# Complete onboarding tasks and forms

> Company guide to finding assigned work, completing checklists, providing information, and saving form entries.

**Audience:** Company contacts with access to an active onboarding workspace.

Your provider decides which tasks, phases, forms, and supporting information you can see. The workspace separates work assigned to you from work your service provider is completing.

## Find your next task

1. [Open your onboarding workspace](/user-guides/client-onboarding/open-your-onboarding).
2. Review the outstanding actions and your task sections, grouped by phase. Select a task to open it. Depending on the workspace layout, details appear in a dialog or expand in place.
3. Read the instructions, due date, and any prerequisite work before submitting information.

A **Blocked** task is waiting on prerequisites. The portal can show the items that must be completed first. You cannot unlock it by marking unrelated tasks complete; ask your provider if the prerequisite status seems wrong.

## Complete a checklist or simple task

<Steps>
  <Step title="Read the instructions">
    Open the task and confirm what work it asks you to perform.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Complete its checklist">
    When a checklist is present, select each item after doing the work. Each checkbox change saves immediately. You can correct a checkbox while the task is still editable.

    Complete all checklist items before the task's completion button becomes available.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Finish the task">
    Select **Mark Complete** and wait for success. Selecting all checklist items is separate from marking the overall task complete.
  </Step>
</Steps>

For a simple task without a checklist, perform the requested work and select **Mark Complete**. Do not use completion merely to hide an item you cannot finish; ask your provider for help instead.

## Provide requested information

Some tasks have a text area for evidence or requested information. Enter a useful answer, review it, and select **Mark Complete**. Typing alone does not submit it, and an empty answer cannot complete a task that requires information.

Use the specific upload, credential, signature, survey, meeting, or training controls when the task requests those actions. They have their own submission behavior; a general comment is not a substitute for required evidence.

## Save a form

<Steps>
  <Step title="Fill in the fields">
    Open the form task. Complete the required fields and choose available company records from the selectors when offered.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save the entry">
    Select **Save Form**. Correct any validation message and submit again. Wait for **Saved** before leaving.

    Form fields are not saved as you type. If you edit a previously saved entry, select Save Form again to submit those changes.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add or edit entries when allowed">
    A form configured for multiple entries provides **One More**. Use it to start another entry, then select Save Form. Select an **Entry** badge to load an existing entry for editing.

    A single-entry form does not provide One More. Ask your provider if you need to submit additional records.
  </Step>
</Steps>

If a selector says no options are available for the company, ask your provider to prepare the required records. Do not invent an identifier or put an unrelated value into another field.

## Discuss a task

Open the task's comments area, enter your message, and use the send control. Wait for it to appear in the thread. Comments save separately from the task's completion or form submission.

Use comments for task-specific context, or **Ask a Question** for a general onboarding question. Do not put credentials in ordinary comments. Company contacts do not use the MSP's internal-note controls.

## FAQs

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Does checking the last checklist item complete the task?">
    The checklist and overall task completion are separate. Complete all items, then select **Mark Complete**.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Are my form answers saved automatically?">
    No. Select **Save Form**. The same rule applies when editing a previously saved entry.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I submit more than one form entry?">
    Only when the provider enabled multiple entries. Use **One More** when it is available; otherwise contact the provider.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I complete my provider's tasks?">
    Your workspace separates client tasks from provider progress. Complete the tasks assigned to you; the MSP manages its own work.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I undo Mark Complete?">
    These client task controls do not provide a general reopen action. Ask your provider to correct or reopen the task if necessary.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Does adding a comment submit the form?">
    No. Comments, Save Form, and Mark Complete are separate actions. Use the action required by that task.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Why can I read the workspace but cannot save?">
    It may be completed or otherwise no longer active, your session may have expired, or the task may be blocked. Check the displayed message and contact your provider. An MSP preview simulates interactions and does not save client submissions.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="I completed my tasks. Is the entire onboarding finished?">
    Your task progress and the overall onboarding status are different. The provider may still have work, reviews, or dependencies to complete before closing the workspace.
