# Open your onboarding portal

> Company guide to opening an onboarding invitation, verifying your email, and returning from your portal account.

**Audience:** Company contacts invited to an onboarding workspace. Your IT service provider creates the workspace, adds contacts, and starts it.

You can enter through your invitation or, when your signed-in account is linked, through **Your onboarding** in the portal. Access to your regular Company portal does not automatically grant access to every onboarding workspace.

## Open an emailed invitation

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open your invitation">
    Use the onboarding invitation sent by your IT service provider. Invitations are associated with a contact; use your own invitation instead of a colleague's link.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Verify your email when prompted">
    On **Verify Your Email**, enter the email address used for the invitation. The page shows a masked hint. Select **Send Verification Link**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check your inbox">
    Open the verification email and follow its link. On **Complete Verification**, select **Continue to Portal** to finish signing in.

    If the message has not arrived, check your junk folder. Wait for the displayed cooldown before selecting **Resend Verification Email**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review the workspace">
    Check the portal and company name, then review the tasks and information your provider has made available. The workspace can include documents, forms, approvals, training, and other requested actions.
  </Step>
</Steps>

The invitation route verifies access to the onboarding workspace. It does not require creating a regular portal account first.

## Return from your Company account

1. Sign in to your normal Company portal using the email your provider added to the onboarding contacts.
2. Open **Your onboarding** in the sidebar when available.
3. Find the active workspace and select **Continue**.

This route matches your signed-in email and company to an active, available onboarding contact. When the match succeeds, Continue opens the workspace without asking you to repeat the invitation email flow.

<Note>
  If the page says **No onboarding portal is linked to this account**, ask your IT provider to add the email you use to sign in. Your invitation may have been sent to a different address, or the workspace may no longer be active.
</Note>

## Resolve an access problem

| Message or situation | What to do |
| --------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Portal Not Started | Ask your provider to start the workspace. An invitation does not activate a draft portal. |
| The email does not match the invitation | Use the invited address. If it is wrong or inaccessible, ask your provider to update your contact and invitation. |
| Verification expired | Return to the original invitation and restart verification. Ask for a new invitation if necessary. |
| Invalid Link | Request a new verification link through the verification page. |
| Too many attempts or locked out | Contact your provider for a new invite link instead of repeatedly guessing email addresses. |
| Portal expired or no longer available | Find the original invitation or ask your provider to confirm the workspace status and resend access. |

## Ask your provider a question

Once inside, use **Ask a Question** when available. Enter the question and select **Send Question**. Wait for the success message; if the portal reports that it could not send or that no recipients are configured, contact your provider through your usual support channel.

Sending the question contacts the configured onboarding team. Closing the dialog with **Cancel** does not send it. Use the dedicated credential handoff task for secrets rather than entering them in a general question.

## FAQs

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Do I need a regular portal account to use my onboarding invitation?">
    No. The invitation flow verifies the invited email and opens the onboarding workspace. A regular Company account is useful for returning through Your onboarding when your provider has linked the same address.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Why can I sign in but not see my onboarding?">
    The signed-in account must match an available contact on an active workspace for the same company. Ask your provider to check the email, company, contact access, and workspace status.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I forward my invitation to another employee?">
    Ask your provider to add that person as an onboarding contact and issue their own access. Forwarding your invitation does not change the contact it belongs to.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can a Company administrator add onboarding contacts?">
    Your MSP manages onboarding contacts and access. A Company administrator should ask the MSP to add or update a contact.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Why must I click Continue to Portal after opening the verification email?">
    That confirmation completes the verification flow. Merely opening the email link is not the final step.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Does Portal Not Started mean I entered the wrong password?">
    No. The provider has not started that onboarding workspace. Ask them to activate it.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Will my tasks be submitted just by opening the workspace?">
    No. Each task has its own completion or submission action. Review the instructions and wait for confirmation after submitting.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Where does Ask a Question send my message?">
    It sends to the onboarding recipients configured by the provider. If no recipient is configured or delivery fails, the portal displays an error; use your normal support channel.
  </Accordion>
