# Review domain renewal information

> Read synchronized DNSimple expiry and auto-renew fields, identify missing information, and hand renewal decisions to your MSP.

Use **Cloud > Domains** to review DNSimple registrar information available for company-mapped domains. Microsoft and Google domain rows describe cloud-service configuration and do not supply registrar expiry or auto-renew information here.

**Audience:** Company users with Microsoft 365 read access and MSP staff. Company users report concerns to their MSP; MSP staff verify and manage renewals in the registrar.

## Review a registrar record

1. Open Cloud > Domains and confirm the company scope.
2. In **Provider**, select the checkbox beside **DNSimple** when the column is available. If only one provider is present, check its records and available fields instead.
3. Find the domain and read **Expires**. Scroll the table horizontally if needed.
4. Click **Columns**, show **Auto-renew**, **Registrar status** and **Last synced**, then **Save Changes**.
5. Compare the recorded expiry, renewal flag and synchronization date. Ask your MSP to confirm current registrar information before relying on it.

| Field | How to interpret it |
| -------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Expires** | Synchronized registrar expiry date. A dash means no date is available here, not that the domain never expires. |
| **Auto-renew** | On or Off when the provider supplied a flag; a dash means no value is supplied. On is not a guarantee that a future renewal will succeed. |
| **Registrar status** | Recorded provider state. It is not a live DNS, website or email-availability test. |
| **Last synced** | When registrar information was fetched. Changes made afterward may not be reflected. |

## Prepare a review list

The page has no expiry sorting, expiry-date filter, renewal action or auto-renew switch. Use **Export CSV** for the loaded page and repeat for additional pages as needed, then sort the recorded dates in your spreadsheet.

<Frame caption="Export the required loaded pages for a renewal review; this control does not renew a domain.">
  <img src="https://mintcdn.com/msportal/CuJu_16D8ZGdquKW/images/product/cloud-domain-export-control.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=CuJu_16D8ZGdquKW&q=85&s=850daaa618d6f99f37830b06822c3210" alt="Export CSV control on Cloud Domains." width="244" height="64" data-path="images/product/cloud-domain-export-control.png" />
</Frame>

The export includes Expires, Auto-renew, Registrar status and Last synced even if those columns are hidden. Check Provider and Company when combining files to avoid treating multiple records for the same domain as separate registrations.

## Follow up with your MSP

Company users should [open a ticket through the Home AI Assistant](/user-guides/ticketing/open-a-ticket), including the domain, company, recorded expiry and the concern. Your MSP checks the registrar and handles any renewal or configuration change.

MSP staff should verify the current registrar expiry, renewal settings and account status before acting. For missing DNSimple records, check integration synchronization and company mapping; unmapped registrar records are not shown in this inventory. See [DNSimple integration](/user-guides/integrations/enable-dnsimple-integration) for the separate setup guide.

Neither **Unverified** on a DNSimple row nor **Secondary domain** is a renewal-failure finding. Unverified is the current fallback for absent cloud-verification data. Secondary domain describes missing synchronized Microsoft/Google presence; it does not establish that the domain is unused.

## FAQs

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Can I renew a domain or enable auto-renew from this page?">
    No. The page reads synchronized registrar information. Your MSP manages renewal settings in the registrar.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Does an empty Expires field mean the domain never expires?">
    No. The expiry value may be unavailable, or you may be reading a Microsoft/Google cloud record instead of a registrar record.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Does Auto-renew On guarantee the next renewal?">
    No. It is a synchronized flag. Your MSP must confirm the current registrar settings and account state.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Why are some DNSimple domains missing?">
    Only company-mapped registrar records appear. Also check company scope, provider filters, access and synchronization with your MSP.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I get expiry fields without changing visible columns?">
    Yes. Export CSV includes its defined expiry, auto-renew, registrar status and synchronization fields even when their columns are hidden. It still exports only the loaded page.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Is Created always the original registration date?">
    No. Its source differs by provider. DNSimple uses the recorded registration date; Google uses its domain creation time and Microsoft uses the stored record date.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Does Secondary domain mean I can safely cancel it?">
    No. It means no matching name was found in synchronized Microsoft/Google inventory for the MSP tenant. It does not establish business use, ownership or renewal requirements.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="How should a Company user report a renewal concern?">
    Start with the Home AI Assistant and request a support ticket. Include the domain, company, recorded expiry and concern so the MSP can verify the registrar.
  </Accordion>
