# View license assignments and combinations

> Find synchronized Microsoft and Google license holders and compare assignments by domain, office, or license combination.

Use **Cloud > Licenses** to review who holds a Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace license. These views read synchronized assignments; they do not add or remove licenses.

**Audience:** Company users with Microsoft 365 read access and MSP staff. The same permission covers Google Workspace assignment data. Adobe inventory access alone does not include these views.

## See who holds a license

1. Select **one company** in the top bar, or narrow the **Company** column to one company before opening the row.
2. In the **Licenses** view, find the Microsoft or Google license and click its row.
3. Review the company's license name, counts, and **Assigned users** panel.
4. Review **Name**, **Email**, and **Status**. Use the pagination controls for more than 100 users.
5. Close the panel when finished. Ask your MSP to investigate or change an assignment.

  When several companies are selected, the user list can include the same SKU's holders across that selected scope even though the panel heading and counts describe the clicked row's company. Select one company before opening it for a company-specific review.

Adobe rows do not open this panel. Google capacity is shown as a dash; that does not mean there are no purchased seats. User details also depend on synchronized directory records, so investigate a discrepancy instead of assuming an empty panel proves zero assignments.

## Compare assignments

Choose the relevant company and provider in **Licenses**, then choose a breakdown:

| View               | What it groups                                                         | How to use it                                                                                        |

| **By domain**      | Assigned users by email domain, provider, and license.                 | Compare license holders across email domains. Assignments without a usable email domain are omitted. |
| **By office**      | Assigned users by synchronized office location, provider, and license. | Compare locations. **(No Office)** means the synchronized location is missing or blank.              |
| **By combination** | Users with the same set of license SKUs within a provider.             | Click a combination to open **Users with this combination**, including Name, Email, and Company.     |

Use each breakdown table's column filters, sorting, **Columns**, and pagination to inspect its results. Domain and office rows are summaries; the clickable drill-down is on **By combination**. The combination dialog shows up to 100 users per page.

These are Microsoft/Google assignment views. They do not show Adobe subscriptions or purchased-seat totals. A combination is a license set, not a Microsoft or Google directory group; use the separate **Groups** header tab for directory groups.

## Understand the scope of a breakdown

Company selection, provider selection, and **Hide free & trial** affect the breakdown dataset. The license list's **Hide large allocations**, **Only unused seats**, License text, Product, and Status filters do not narrow these assignment views. Apply the filters offered by the breakdown table itself.

**Hide free & trial** changes which SKUs participate in each combination. Two people can share a visible combination even if their hidden free/trial assignments differ. Turning the switch off can split that combination into several rows.

When multiple companies are in scope, matching domains, office names, or license combinations can be aggregated across those companies. Select one company when preparing its review. Use the breakdown table's counts; the top inventory summary describes licenses, not that breakdown's filtered people.

    Open Cloud > Licenses, select one company, and click a Microsoft or Google license row. Review Assigned users. Adobe rows do not have this drill-down.

  <Accordion title="Why are there more users in the panel than the license row reports?">
    With multiple companies selected, the user list can span the selected companies for that SKU while the heading and counts describe one row. Narrow to one company first. Synchronization or missing directory details can also affect comparisons.

  <Accordion title="Does By combination show Microsoft 365 groups?">
    No. It groups people by their set of assigned license SKUs. Directory groups are on the separate Groups header tab.

  <Accordion title="Why did combinations change when I showed free and trial licenses?">
    The combination is built from the licenses included by that switch. Showing previously hidden SKUs can split one visible combination into several different sets.

  <Accordion title="Why do list filters not give the same counts in By office or By domain?">
    Breakdowns follow company, provider, and Hide free & trial settings, plus their own table filters. They do not inherit the list's other switches or License, Product, and Status filters. Their counts describe assignments, not purchased capacity.

  <Accordion title="What does (No Office) mean?">
    The synchronized user's office location is missing or blank. It is not an indication that the person works remotely. Ask your MSP to check the directory information if needed.

    No. The panels are for reviewing synchronized holders and combinations. Ask your MSP to make assignment changes.
