# Control Company quote access

> MSP guide to configuring Company-role quote permission, visibility, and allowed statuses.

MSP staff control Company quote access through the user’s Company permission role. In **Settings > Users & Roles > Roles**, edit the appropriate **Company Role** and configure **Quotes**.

Company administrators ask their MSP for access changes. They do not manage these role settings themselves.

## Before you change a role

You need permission to edit the relevant Company role, with an active subscription that allows the change. Confirm which users share the role: editing it changes access for those users, not just the person who reported a problem.

If only one person needs a different policy, create or duplicate an appropriate Company role and [assign that permissions group to the user](/user-guides/settings/change-company-user-permissions).

## Configure quote visibility

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the Company role">
    Go to **Settings > Users & Roles > Roles**, find the role under **Company Roles**, and open its editor.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Allow reading Quotes">
    Find **Quotes** in the permission matrix and enable the appropriate read permission. The additional quote access controls appear when the Company role can read Quotes.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose Visibility">
    Select **All quotes**, **Mine only**, or **My site**. Use the table below to choose the intended policy.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose Statuses">
    Leave **Statuses** empty for **All statuses**, or select the provider statuses this role may see. A restricted list excludes quotes whose stage is missing or does not match an allowed status.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save and verify">
    Review the other role settings, select the editor’s save action, and wait for the result. Reopen the role to confirm the saved values, then verify the intended Company user’s Quotes access.

    If the session still reflects old access, have the user sign out and back in. If saving reports an error, reopen the role and check each setting before retrying; some parts of a role update can already have saved.
  </Step>
</Steps>

| Visibility | Which quotes it permits within the user’s company access |
| -------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **All quotes** | Accessible company quotes, subject to the role’s allowed statuses. |
| **Mine only** | Quotes whose billing contact’s full name matches the user’s full name. This is not the quote owner field. |
| **My site** | Quotes whose billing contact matches the user or another portal user at the same company and location. Without an assigned company or location, it falls back to Mine only. |

A visibility setting does not broaden company access or enable a missing integration. The same role restrictions apply to internal quote detail links and the portal’s Salesbuildr PDF request.

## Diagnose a missing quote

Check the Company user’s actual permissions group, quote read permission, company and location assignments, full name, and the quote’s billing-contact name. Name differences can prevent a Mine only or My site match. Check the role’s allowed statuses as well as the list’s temporary filters.

For a status restriction, select the provider’s actual stage values. Removing the last selected status returns the role to all statuses; it does not hide all quotes. To remove quote access, remove the appropriate Quotes permission instead.

    No. Company access still applies, together with any configured status restriction.
  </Accordion>
