# Brand packages

> Save named looks for report title pages and presentation slides, build one with AI, and choose one for a full report

A brand package is a named look for client-facing reports. It sets the colors, fonts, logo, cover image, background pattern and title page style used on a **Full Report** title page and on its presentation slides (cover, section and closing slides, and the tint behind content slides).

Manage brand packages in **Settings > Reports** on the **Brand packages** tab. You can also open the page from **Reporting** through the page actions menu (**Page settings**).

## Before you start

* Opening **Settings > Reports** needs the **Report Settings** permission, in the **Settings** section of the role editor. **Read** shows the packages without changing them. **Manage** creates, edits, deletes and sets the default.
* Your organization can keep up to 12 brand packages. Delete one to add another.
* **Build with AI** needs AI turned on for your organization and enough AI credits.
* Brand packages style **Full Reports** and the presentations built from them. Block-based reports from the builder use the **Company Logo**, **Custom Image**, **Heading** and **Text** blocks for branding instead. See [Reporting](https://docs.msportal.ai/user-guides/reporting/index.md#content-blocks).

## Create a brand package

**1. Open the Brand packages tab**

Go to **Settings > Reports** and choose **Brand packages**.

**2. Start a package**

Choose **New package**. The editor opens with your tenant brand color filled in. You can also open a card's actions menu and choose **Duplicate** to start from an existing package.

**3. Name it and set the look**

Enter a **Name**, then set the options below. The **Preview** shows a report title page and presentation slides as you change them.

**4. Save**

Choose **Save**. Nothing is stored until you save, and **Cancel** discards the draft.

| Group | Option | What it controls |
| - | - | - |
| **Colors** | **Primary** | Title page and cover slide background, behind white text. It must be dark enough for white text to read. |
| | **Secondary** | Second color of the title page and slide gradient. |
| | **Accent** | Rules, highlights and chart accents. |
| | **Slide background** | Light tint behind content slides. It must be light enough for dark text to read. |
| **Fonts** | **Heading font**, **Body font** | **App default**, **Modern sans (Helvetica)**, **Humanist sans (Segoe, Trebuchet)**, **Geometric sans (Futura, Avenir)**, **Classic serif (Georgia)**, **Elegant serif (Palatino)** or **Slab serif (Rockwell)**. |
| **Layout** | **Title page style** | **Full color**, **Banner** or **Minimal**. |
| | **Background pattern** | **Circles**, **Dots**, **Grid**, **Diagonal lines** or **None**, drawn over the title page and cover slides. |
| **Images** | **Logo** | Replaces your reporting logo on title pages and slides. PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG, up to 2 MB. Leave it empty to use your reporting logo. |
| | **Cover image** | Shown behind the title page and cover slide, tinted with the primary color. PNG, JPG or WebP, up to 8 MB. |

Enter colors as hex values such as `#0d9488`, or use the color picker.

## Build a brand package with AI

AI can propose a package from your existing brand material, such as a brand guide, a past report or a screenshot of your website.

**1. Open Build with AI**

On the **Brand packages** tab, choose **Build with AI**.

**2. Add your sources**

Drop in up to four PDF, Word, PNG, JPG or WebP files, 20 MB or smaller each. Leave **Use our logo** on to include your reporting logo. You can build from the logo alone.

**3. Build the package**

Choose **Build package**. AI reads the files and proposes colors, fonts and a layout.

**4. Review and save**

The proposal opens in the editor as a new package. Check every option against your brand and the preview, change what you need, then choose **Save**. The card shows **Built with AI**.

The uploaded files are deleted once the package is built. If a color from your documents is hard to read, MSPortal adjusts it to a readable shade, so compare the colors with your brand guide before saving.

## Choose the default package

The first package you save becomes the **Default**. New full reports start with the default package selected.

To change it, open another package's actions menu and choose **Make default**. To stop preselecting a package, choose **Remove as default** on the current default. New reports then start with **None (your brand colors)**. These changes save immediately.

## Use a brand package in a full report

**1. Start a full report**

In **Reporting**, choose **New Report > Full Report**.

**2. Open Appearance & output**

In the report options, expand **Appearance & output**.

**3. Choose the package**

Under **Visual theme**, pick a **Brand package**. The default package is already selected. Choose **None (your brand colors)** to use your tenant brand colors and reporting logo instead.

**4. Adjust the report if needed**

The package sets the report's cover style and accent color. You can still change **Accent color** for this report only.

**Manage brand packages** under the picker opens **Settings > Reports** for people with **Report Settings** access.

When the report is generated, MSPortal copies the package's look into the report. Editing or deleting the package later does not change reports that already exist, and a locked report keeps the look it was published with. Presentations built from the report use the same look.

## Edit or delete a package

Open a package card's actions menu:

* **Edit** opens the editor. Choose **Save** to keep your changes. Reports created earlier keep their original look.
* **Duplicate** opens a copy named "(copy)" in the editor. It is saved only when you choose **Save**.
* **Delete** asks you to confirm, then removes the package. Reports already created with it keep their look. If it was the default, new reports start with **None (your brand colors)**.

## Troubleshooting

| Problem | What to do |
| - | - |
| **New package** and **Build with AI** are missing | Your role has **Report Settings** set to **Read**. Ask an admin for **Manage**. |
| **New package** and **Build with AI** are disabled | You have 12 packages. Delete one to add another. |
| **White text is hard to read on this color. Choose a darker one.** | **Primary** and **Secondary** sit behind white text. Pick a darker shade. |
| **Slide text is hard to read on this color. Choose a lighter one.** | **Slide background** sits behind dark text. Pick a lighter tint. |
| **Build package** is disabled | Add at least one file, or turn on **Use our logo**. The logo option needs a reporting or tenant logo in [Tenant settings](https://docs.msportal.ai/user-guides/settings/tenant.md). |
| **AI is turned off for your organization.** | Turn AI on in tenant settings, or create the package by hand. |
| **There are not enough AI credits to build a brand package.** | Add AI credits, or create the package by hand. |
| **The files could not be read. Use PDF, Word or image files.** | Try a different export of the document, such as a PDF or a PNG screenshot. |
| An existing report did not pick up package changes | This is expected. Reports keep the look they were created with. Create a new full report to use the updated package. |
| The **Brand package** picker shows only **None (your brand colors)** | No packages exist yet. Someone with **Report Settings** set to **Manage** can create one. |
