# Complete a questionnaire

> Open your survey invitation, answer required questions, submit your response, and handle expired or completed links.

Open the questionnaire link sent by your IT provider. The invitation opens the survey directly; you do not need permission to create surveys or administer the portal to respond.

<Note>
  For survey recipients. Your invitation identifies the response it accepts, so use the link addressed to you. Do not assume that an emailed questionnaire is anonymous.
</Note>

## Answer and submit

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open your invitation">
    Follow the survey link in the provider's message. Check the survey title and introduction so you know what feedback is being requested.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Answer the questions">
    Complete questions marked with an asterisk. Depending on the questionnaire, answers can use text, single or multiple choices, numbers, dates, yes/no controls, or rating scales.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review your response">
    Check your answers before submitting. A checkmark beside a field indicates that an answer is present; it does not mean the whole survey has been sent.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Submit the questionnaire">
    Select **Submit Survey** and wait for the result. Correct any highlighted required-field errors. A successful submission displays a thank-you message.
  </Step>
</Steps>

After submission, the invitation is marked completed. There is no recipient-side edit button for the completed questionnaire. Contact the provider if you need to correct an answer.

## Leaving and returning

Complete and submit the survey before closing it when possible. Do not rely on automatic progress saving or expect a draft to appear on another device.

If the page offers **Remember progress on this device** and a saved-progress indicator, that is local browser-session progress, not a submitted response. **Clear saved progress** clears the locally retained answers. You still need to select **Submit Survey** to send the questionnaire.

## If the link or submission fails

| Message or situation | Next step |
| ------------------------------------ | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Invitation is invalid or unavailable | Reopen the complete original link or request a replacement from the provider |
| Invitation has expired | Ask the provider for a current invitation |
| Survey already completed | The link cannot accept another normal response; contact the provider about a correction |
| Required question is highlighted | Enter the requested answer and submit again |
| A valid answer is still rejected | Keep your intended answer and report the question and error to the provider; do not change your feedback merely to bypass the error |
| Submission outcome is uncertain | Reopen the original link or ask the provider to confirm receipt before attempting repeated submissions |

A questionnaire can be associated with your invitation, company, or support ticket. Depending on the provider's configuration, submitted feedback can be used in reports, trigger follow-up, or appear in the linked ticket history.

## Frequently asked questions

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Do I need to sign in or have survey-management permission?">
    The emailed invitation opens the public response form. Creating surveys and viewing management reports are separate capabilities.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Does choosing an answer send it immediately?">
    No. Complete the form and select **Submit Survey**. A field checkmark is not submission confirmation.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I leave and finish on another device?">
    Do not rely on that. Any available saved progress is local to the browser session. It is not a synchronized account draft.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Is Remember progress the same as submitting?">
    No. It retains local progress when available. The provider receives the questionnaire through **Submit Survey**.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I edit my answers after submission?">
    The completed invitation has no recipient edit action. Ask the provider to arrange a correction or another invitation.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I use a colleague's invitation?">
    Use your own invitation. Responses can be associated with the intended recipient and company; ask the provider for a separate link if needed.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Is my response anonymous?">
    Do not assume so. The invitation can associate the response with recipient and company information, and ticket-related feedback can appear in the linked ticket history.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Should I submit again after a network error?">
    First check whether the original link now reports completion or ask the provider to confirm receipt. An error or interrupted page does not always establish that nothing was saved.
