The review queue is available only for tenants where MSPortal has enabled it. Until then, the CSAT Review Queue menu item, Review settings tab and correction badges are hidden. Your existing CSAT dashboard continues to work.
CSAT settings with Display selected and no Review tab while review access is off

When review access is off, CSAT settings keep the Display tab and hide Review.

The CSAT review queue gives every low rating an owner. Choose a reviewer, and each rating below your threshold is added to their queue as it arrives, including ratings imported from HaloPSA, Autotask and Simplesat. The reviewer records what happened, closes the review, or corrects a rating that the customer submitted by mistake. A correction keeps the original rating, the reason and who made it. Your CSAT dashboards, reports and exports then use the corrected rating. The review queue is for MSP staff. Company users never see reviews, explanations or correction reasons. In their own CSAT views they see the corrected rating, without any indication that it was corrected.

Who can do what

Turn on the review queue

  1. Open Surveys from the sidebar, then choose Configure from the Surveys menu.
  2. Select the CSAT tab, then the Review tab.
  3. Turn on Send low ratings to a reviewer.
  4. Choose a Reviewer. Only staff with access to CSAT are listed.
  5. Under Review ratings, choose which ratings go to the queue:
    • Below the top score: every rating except the best one, for example 1 to 3 out of 4.
    • Below satisfied (under 80%): neutral and dissatisfied ratings.
    • Dissatisfied only (under 40%): only the lowest ratings.
  6. Under Sources to review, choose Built-in CSAT, HaloPSA, Autotask and Simplesat as needed.
  7. Optionally change Review ratings submitted on or after. The queue starts today when you turn it on. Choose an earlier date, up to 365 days back, to review past ratings; the reviewer gets one summary email for them.
  8. Optionally add up to 10 managers under Copy managers, then choose Copy managers on corrections and Copy managers on explanations and closed reviews.
  9. Select Save Review Settings.
When you save, MSPortal adds every matching rating since the start date to the queue and tells you how many were added.
If your survey rates almost everything one point below the top (for example a thumbs-up mapped to 4 out of 5), Below the top score sends nearly every rating to the queue. Choose Below satisfied instead.
Only ratings linked to a company are queued, the same ratings the CSAT dashboards count. Customer-effort (CES) and NPS-style campaigns are not reviewed. Changing the Reviewer moves the previous reviewer’s open reviews, and any unassigned ones, to the new reviewer. Reviews someone reassigned by hand stay where they are. Turning the queue off stops new ratings from being added and keeps existing reviews available.

Work the queue

  1. Open Surveys from the sidebar, then choose CSAT Review Queue from the Surveys menu. On the CSAT dashboard you can also select Review queue, which shows the number of open reviews.
  2. The queue opens on every Open review. Use Assigned to me to see only your reviews, or Everyone for the whole queue.
  3. Filter or sort by Rating, Company, Respondent, Comment, Source, Status, Reviewer or Submitted. Change the Status filter to see explained, corrected or closed reviews.
  4. Select a row to open the review.
The review shows the rating, the respondent’s comment, the technician, the survey for built-in CSAT ratings, the reviewer, and the full History of the review.

Explain a rating

Write what happened, and what was done about it, in Explanation, then select Explain and close. The review’s status becomes Explained. To close a review without an explanation, select Close without explanation. Its status becomes Closed. Select Reopen to send an explained or closed review back to Open.

Correct a mis-submitted rating

  1. In Correct a mis-submitted rating, choose the Corrected rating.
  2. Give a Reason, for example “The customer told us they meant to select 4”.
  3. Select Correct rating.
The review’s status becomes Corrected, and the rating shows a Corrected from badge with the original. Dashboards, trends, company and technician figures, report blocks and CSV exports use the corrected rating from then on. The next import from HaloPSA, Autotask or Simplesat does not undo it. To change a correction, choose a different rating and select Update correction. To undo it, select Remove correction: the original rating is restored everywhere and the review returns to Open. If the respondent later changes their rating in the PSA, the correction stays and the history records the new original rating. If the PSA’s rating scale changes, MSPortal removes the correction and reopens the review, because the corrected value no longer fits the scale.

Reassign a review

Choose another person under Reviewer in the review. They are notified, and the change is recorded in the history.

Notifications

  • The reviewer gets one email and one in-app notification for each batch of new reviews, a few minutes after the ratings arrive. Turning the queue on with an earlier start date sends one summary, not one message per rating.
  • Copied managers get an email and in-app notification for corrections and removed corrections, and, when Copy managers on explanations and closed reviews is on, for explanations and closed reviews too.
  • Nobody is emailed about their own decisions.
Notifications open the review queue, or the review itself when there is only one.
