This guide shows MSP staff how to exclude a company from Standards scoring and how to bring it back. Excluding archives the Planner work generated by Standards for that company, removing it from the active Planner for both MSP staff and company users. The company, tickets, devices, deployment statuses and Planner history are preserved.

Before you start

  • You need Standards read access, Planner Write permission and active billing.
  • Excluding a company removes it from the deployment percentage and hides its matrix row by default.
  • Excluding a parent company does not exclude its child companies. Exclude each one separately.

Exclude a company

Open Standards

In the sidebar, open MSP Tools > Standards.

Find the company

Type the name in Search companies…. Check the exact row, especially when parent and child companies appear together.

Open the company menu

Right-click the company name, or click the three-dot button beside it.

Choose Exclude from Standards

The change saves right away. A toast reads that the company was excluded from Standards. There is no confirmation. To cancel, press Escape or click outside the menu first.

Confirm the row is hidden

The row disappears from the matrix. Use Show N excluded to see it again.

Include a company again

Show excluded companies

Click Show N excluded above the matrix. The number is how many excluded companies are in the loaded scope.

Find the company

Excluded rows show an Excluded badge and a crossed-out name. Use Search companies… if needed.

Choose Include in Standards

Right-click the company name, or click the three-dot button beside it, then click Include in Standards. A toast reads that the company was re-included.

Check the matrix

The row returns to normal and counts toward the deployment percentage again.
Including a company again restores Standards Planner items archived by the exclusion, provided their standards still apply and the items have not been changed since that archive. Items already archived manually stay archived. It keeps the existing deployment statuses. It does not reset them to Not Started or mark them Deployed. Hide N excluded only hides the rows. It does not include anyone.

What exclusion changes

  • An excluded company does not count toward the Standards score, even while its row is shown.
  • Column bulk actions skip excluded companies. Its own row menu still works while the row is shown.
  • Exclusion hides generated Standards work from the active Planner for staff and company users. Manually created work stays active. It does not deactivate the company or stop integrations.
  • Sync All Companies skips excluded companies when creating tracking records and Planner items, so a later sync does not bring their work back. See Sync Standards to companies and Choose which Standards apply.
