Sync Standards creates a tracking record and a Planner item for every standard at every active company, and refreshes the Planner items that already exist. This page is for MSP staff who manage the Standards catalog.
Excluded companies are skipped by Standards sync. Excluding a company also archives its generated Standards Planner work immediately.

Before you start

  • You need Manage access to Standards settings and an active billing status. Company administrator access does not grant this.
  • The catalog needs at least one category. Sync All Companies is disabled while the catalog is empty.
  • Review names, descriptions, default prices and category Planner types first. See Manage the Standards catalog.
  • The sync covers every active company. The company selector at the top of the page does not limit it to one company.

Sync Standards to all companies

Open Settings > MSP Tools > Standards

Stay on the Standards tab. The sync saves any edits that are still pending before it starts.

Click Sync All Companies

The Sync Standards to All Companies dialog opens. It shows how many items across how many categories will be synced.

Choose a schedule under Schedule new planner items

Pick On a specific date and choose a date with the date picker. The date becomes both the start date and the due date of each new Planner item. Or pick Send to Unscheduled. New items land in the Unscheduled lane with no start or due date.Sync All Companies in the dialog stays disabled until you pick a date or choose Send to Unscheduled.

Decide whether to turn on Hide from company users

Turn it on to mark each new Planner item as internal-only, so company users do not see it in the client portal. Leave it off to let company users see new items.

Click Sync All Companies in the dialog

The dialog closes and a message says Standards sync started. Company records will be updated in the background. Click Cancel instead to leave without syncing. Your schedule and visibility choices are not remembered for the next sync.

Review the scope, schedule and visibility before you submit. Counts depend on your catalog.

Wait for the background task to finish

The started message means the task was submitted, not that every record is done. Large MSPs can take a moment.

Open MSP Tools > Standards in the sidebar

This is the company matrix. Check a few company rows and open their linked work.

Or open Planner > List and filter Source to Standards

Confirm the names, statuses, dates, estimates and visibility of the new items.

What a sync changes

The dialog says existing company statuses are not overwritten. That covers statuses only. A sync can replace a company-specific Planner title, description, estimate or type with the shared catalog values. When a standard has a Planner template, it can also replace the notes, business value, hours and probability on open items.
The default estimate on a new Planner item is a planning number. It is not a purchase or an approved quote.
