Audience: MSP administrators with Client Health settings manage access. These settings apply to your whole tenant. Open Settings > MSP Tools > Scoring, then select the Traffic Light tab. The page title is Client Health. Changes are saved with Save Changes in the page header. Switching tabs with unsaved changes asks you to discard them first. For how staff use the statuses day to day, see Run a Traffic Light Review.

Turn it on

Switch on Use Traffic Light Review and save. Statuses then appear in Client Health, on the company record, on tickets and in your PSA. Saving with the switch off hides Traffic Light Review again and removes the banners MSPortal wrote to your PSA. Statuses and history are kept, so turning it back on restores them.

Define each status

The Status definitions section has a card for Green, Amber, Red and Purple. They start with the definitions from the Traffic Light Review Framework, and you can edit each one.
  • Description and Criteria appear to staff when they change a status.
  • Days until next review (Amber, Red and Purple) sets the default next review date, from 1 to 90 days.
  • Required fields (Amber, Red and Purple) are the details staff must fill in before they can save that status.
Returning a customer to Green or removing Purple always needs an approver and a rationale.

Set the weekly review prompts

Weekly review prompts are the questions staff answer when they log a review, up to 12. Answers are saved with the review in the customer’s history.

Write statuses to your PSA

The PSA banners section shows one block for each connected PSA: Halo PSA, Autotask or ConnectWise. MSPortal writes a banner for every customer that is Amber, Red or Purple, so technicians see it while they work tickets. Green customers without Purple get no banner. For each PSA you can also choose:
  • Status field: an optional company field that receives the status, for reporting in the PSA. Map the value written for Green, Amber and Red.
  • Purple field: an optional company field that shows whether Purple is on.
Only text and picklist company fields are listed. If a field is missing, sync your PSA fields first. Include owner and Include next review add those details to every banner. The Banner preview shows a sample. Banners are written in English. Banners update a few minutes after a status changes. Select Sync now to rewrite every banner and field from the saved settings, for example after changing the alert type.
