Use this page to create your service plans (Standards tiers), tie each plan to PSA company types, choose which standards each plan expects, and rank the ways a standard can be deployed. It is for MSP staff. Company users can see the linked work but cannot change this setup.

Plans and add-ons in Launch Center

In Launch Center, open Plans or Add-ons under Standards. Choose Yes to name and edit your packages, or No if you do not use them. The answer saves automatically. If you change it while a save is in progress, your latest choice stays selected. Reopen the step to check the saved answer. Choosing No keeps existing plans and add-ons; it does not delete them.

Before you start

  • You need Standards settings Manage permission and an account in good billing standing. With Read permission you can view the page but not change it.
  • Each tier is a service plan, such as Platinum, Gold, Silver or Bronze. The names and the order are your choice.
  • Company types come from your PSA. A PSA integration with synced companies must exist before you can assign company types to a plan.
  • The standards you want to plan around must exist. See Manage the Standards catalog.

Create and rank plans

Open the tab

Go to Settings > MSP Tools > Standards and click the Standards tiers tab.

Add a tier

Click Add tier. A row named New tier 1 (then 2, 3 and so on) is saved right away.

Name and describe it

In the row, type a Name (60 characters at most) and a Description (300 characters at most). Names must be different from each other.

Pick a color

Open the Color dropdown and choose one of Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze, Amber, Emerald, Sky, Violet, Rose or Slate. The color only helps you tell tiers apart. It does not set the rank.

Rank the plans

Use the up and down arrows at the end of the row to put the plans in order, strongest first. The first row is the strongest tier.
There is no Save button. Names and descriptions save shortly after you stop typing, and the arrows save when you click them.

Assign company types to a plan

A company gets its plan from its PSA company type. If a company has several types, it gets the highest-ranked plan.

Open the list

In the plan’s row, click the Company types dropdown.

Tick the types

Tick the PSA company types that belong on this plan. A type already on another plan shows that plan in brackets, for example Managed (now Gold). Ticking it moves it to this plan.

Save

Close the list. The change saves when it closes.
To take a type off a plan, untick it and close the list. A type belongs to one plan at a time. The list is built from the types on your active, PSA-synced companies. This page does not create company types or change a company’s types. If the dropdown is disabled, no company types are available yet.

Choose which standards belong to a plan

Open the standard

On the Standards tab, open the category and click the standard’s row.

Pick the plans

Open the Service plans dropdown, tick the plans that expect this standard, and close the list. A Plans updated message confirms the save.
For example: A standard with no plans selected (All plans) is expected of every company. A company whose company type is on no plan is also expected to have every standard. The Service plans field only appears once you have created at least one tier. A plan states what is expected. It does not install software or mark a company Deployed.

Add deployment options to a standard

A deployment option is one way to meet a standard, such as a specific product or managed service. Each option is ranked by a tier.

Open the standard

On the Standards tab, expand the category and click the standard’s row.

Add an option

Under Deployment options, click Add option. If the button is disabled, create a tier first.

Name it

Type the implementation in Option name, for example a product name. Option names must be different within one standard. A new option starts as New deployment option, and later ones are numbered (New deployment option 2, and so on). Replace the placeholder with the real name.

Set its tier

Pick a Standards tier for the option. A new option starts on the first, strongest tier, so check this choice.

Add detail

Optionally fill in Configuration detail, such as “Provided by us as a managed network”.
Several options can use the same tier. Adding an option does not assign it to any company. To record which option a company uses, pick it from the company’s status cell on the Standards matrix. See Read the Standards matrix.

Synthetic example: a configured option appears under its tier in the standard column menu. This menu applies across the loaded company scope.

To update one company, use a status cell. Read bulk scope before you choose an option from the column menu shown above.

How the matrix uses tiers

  • A deployed standard with no option selected shows Deployed, not classified, and the matrix counts it as unclassified.
  • An option at or above the company’s target tier meets the target.
  • An option below the target tier stays Deployed and is counted as below target. Its tooltip reads Below company target. It does not drop back to Not Started.
  • In a one-of group with several deployed alternatives, the strongest deployed tier is the one compared to the target.

Change or delete tiers and options

Renaming a tier changes its label everywhere. Moving it changes its rank. Changing an option’s tier changes how companies using that option are classified.

Delete an option

Click the trash icon (Delete deployment option) at the end of the option’s row. It is deleted at once, with no confirmation. Companies that had selected it keep their Deployed status but lose the option, so they show as not classified.

Delete a tier

Click the trash icon on the tier’s row. In Delete Standards tier? click Delete tier. A tier that options still use cannot be deleted, so move or delete those options first. Deleting a tier removes its company type assignments, and no other plan takes their place.
