Audience: Company users with Planner access and MSP staff. Company users see items their MSP makes client-visible within their permitted company scope. Your MSP manages the Standards catalog, deployment choices and sharing. Your MSP can use Standards to track tools or practices such as backup, endpoint protection and acceptable-use policies. Synchronization can create a related Planner item for each company and standard. The presence of a task does not mean you submitted a new support request or purchased the product.

Find Standards work shared with you

  1. Open Planner > List View.
  2. Check the company scope and search for the item title your MSP supplied.
  3. If the Source filter is available, choose Standards to find work generated from Standards.
  4. Open the item to read its description, dates, status, notes and estimates.
  5. If it is missing, clear other filters and ask your MSP to check sharing, company access and whether the item is archived.
Tool Stack is the former name. Current Planner source labels and item badges say Standards; older links can still use the former name. Company users do not normally have the MSP Tools sidebar switch; start with the shared Planner item rather than looking for that switch. See Find Planner items and read item details for the reader controls.

Understand the status

Standards describes a deployment decision; Planner describes the linked task. Their labels differ: Cancelled in Planner does not distinguish N/A from Declined. Ask the MSP whether the standard did not apply or was offered and declined. A completed task reflects the recorded deployment; it does not prove current device health or coverage on every endpoint. Planner also has workflow states such as On Hold and Pending Approval. These do not have a direct Standards status equivalent. If the task and the MSP’s deployment record disagree, ask them to review both records and their synchronization.

Read dates and costs in context

A due date is a planning target, not necessarily a booked appointment. Some Standards work is left Unscheduled. Ask your MSP to confirm the actual deployment plan when the date is unclear. The linked item can carry a default estimate from the MSP’s catalog. Read its amount, currency and recurrence as displayed; do not assume it is a monthly subscription price or an accepted quote. Use the separate Quotes guide for proposal documents from Quoter, QuoteWerks or Salesbuildr. Standard names, descriptions, estimates and categories can be refreshed from the MSP’s catalog. Ask the MSP to review the source definition when the same detail keeps changing across related tasks. Editing a shared task does not necessarily change the catalog used for other companies.

Ask the MSP to correct or explain an item

Include the company, Planner title, the value you expected and the value currently shown. Useful questions include:
  • Is this standard required, optional or one of several acceptable alternatives?
  • Was it marked N/A, declined or deployed?
  • Is the estimate a planning amount or a quoted price?
  • Who will schedule the work, and what needs approval?
  • Should this item be visible to Company users?
Your MSP controls the Standards settings and permissions. Company administrator status does not make you responsible for configuring the MSP’s catalog or changing other users’ access. If you need a support request instead, start with the Home AI Assistant to open a ticket. A Planner item is not a submitted ticket.

FAQs

Your MSP can synchronize Standards into company Planner work. Its presence does not mean you submitted a support request or bought the product.
Start in Planner List View with the correct company scope and search for the shared item. If available, use the Standards source filter. Company users do not normally have the MSP Tools switch.
Check client visibility, company scope, Planner permission, filters and archived state with your MSP. Not all generated work is shared with Company users.
Not necessarily. Both N/A and Declined correspond to Cancelled in Planner. Ask the MSP which decision was recorded.
No. It reflects recorded deployment progress. Current device health and protection need their own verification.
No. It is a planning target and can be unset. Ask your MSP to confirm scheduling.
No. Check the displayed amount and recurrence, and use the actual quote document for a proposal. A catalog estimate is not proof of purchase or acceptance.
The MSP may have refreshed the shared Standards definition. Ask them to review the catalog and synchronization before making repeated local corrections.
Company administrator status does not grant those responsibilities. Ask the MSP to change catalog configuration, sharing or permissions.
No. Open a ticket through the Home AI Assistant when you need to submit a support request.
