Before you start
You need access to the project. Editing project details and collaboration items requires project overlay-edit permission; changing PSA statuses requires status-edit permission. Assignment changes and supported PSA rescheduling require project write access. Tabs also depend on display settings, provider support, and the project’s data. A small project without multiple tickets may not show Phases or ticket Kanban.Choose the right tab
Review phases, tickets, and time
1
Open Phases
Select Phases to review each phase’s status, dates, hours, and progress.
2
Expand a phase
Select a phase row to inspect its tickets. Review the owner, status, and recorded versus estimated hours.
3
Inspect the work
Where enabled, expand a ticket to see time entries and their notes. Project ticket custom fields can also appear here when configured.
Use ticket Kanban
The project-level Kanban tab is available when enabled in project settings and permitted by your role. It is distinct from the portfolio Kanban board. Use its search and completed-ticket controls to focus the board. Choose Status, Technician, or Priority grouping and a card density of Comfortable, Compact, or Dense. When your role and PSA support the change, drag a ticket between columns. Choose the destination status or assignee when prompted. In technician mode, Assign to… opens the picker for another eligible technician; administrators can instead show everyone in the configured roster. ConnectWise assignments remain limited to the project team. An administrator’s roster filters can narrow the available team further.Edit project details
Select Edit Project Details, update the available general information or contacts, and save. Review any manual health selection and its explanation so other viewers understand the project’s condition. PSA-backed fields and MSPortal collaboration items have different destinations. A project status or supported ticket change can write back to the PSA; do not assume a weekly update, deliverable, or client decision becomes a PSA record.Use Project AI
Open Project AI from the right edge of the workspace to ask about the project or draft an update, action item, deliverable, milestone, or decision. The assistant can use the project information available to your account. Proposed changes appear for review before they are applied. Read each proposal, check its details and visibility, and approve only the changes you intend to make. Read-only users can ask questions but cannot apply changes.Troubleshooting
